Established by Terri Newman over 30 years ago, the Classy Dancers competition team is an audition-based nonprofit dance company designed for amateur dancers who have chosen dance as a priority activity. The Company was founded to offer involved students more performance opportunities and professional experiences, and is known throughout the nation for its technical proficiency and emotional execution.
Dancers wishing to audition should be studying a minimum of Jazz and Ballet, as well as a Turns class. Workshop and convention attendance is also strongly encouraged. Parents should seek guidance from Lauren Lenter or Terri Newman if their child is hoping to train for the team.
Members of The Classy Dancers take a weekly minimum of 2 ballet classes, 2 stretch classes, a jazz class, a turns class and one optional class, in addition to their choreography classes.

Our elite Select Team is an additional offering for high schoolers achieving a high technical level who are looking for a pre-professional program to further their dance studies. Alumni from these programs have gone on to perform throughout the country, from Branson to Vegas, to Los Angeles to New York. Performers have danced in the renowned Alvin Ailey dance company, the Rockettes, Sesame Street Live, on Star Search, and in local pageants, just to name a few. Many dancers receive full college scholarships to continue their dance training.
