The Dance Shoppe offers strong technical training as the base of our amazing recreational program. We cater to all ages and levels of dance, and believe 100% in our motto: Where Everyone's a Star!
Each season, dancers beginning in 2nd grade are evaluated and placed in recommended classes by ability, rather than age. This method recognizes that every dancer develops at a different rate and helps to challenge the dancer while teaching proper technique

A special three-in-one class including ballet, tap and tumbling that teach the fundamentals that first graders are ready for in a shorter time span of an hour and a half. Students perform two of the three dance subjects in the June production.
Ballet is the basis for all forms of dance. Our ballet program stresses proper technique, as well as terminology, while learning grace and poise.
Tap is a style of dance that uses the feet as a percussion instrument. Classical and rhythmic styles of this dance form are taught, as well as musicality and rhythm.

Jazz is a popular dance form with many different branches that have evolved. Each class begins with a thorough stretch and includes stylized movements, turns, extensions and leaps.
Turns is a class that specializes in the placement of turns, working on multiple rotations and variations. Dancer must have teacher permission to join.

Tumbling is the floor portion of a gymnastics class, done on mats.
Hip Hop features choreographed dance movements set primarily to hiphop and pop music. It has evolved since the 1970's into many styles such as popping, locking, breaking, and calisthenics. Hip hop dance represents a cultural movement for all levels, beginners through advanced.
An introduction to recognizable modern techniques or styles (i.e., Horton, Graham, Cunningham etc.), and basic recognizable modern movement, transitions and quality of movement to create a unique style. Technique and styles include contractions, moving with a curved spine, and creative jumps, turns and floor work. The class includes center warm-up and technique, across the floor work and usually a center combination.
